W3C and WAI Compliance

We take website accessibility seriously and so should all website owners. If you are not sure your website passes at least the minimum standards required by law, please ask us to perform an accessibility report on your website.

web site accessibility testing by aprompt website designers, wiltshire

Website Accessibility Testing

During the website accessibility tests we will highlight the areas that require improvement or modification, if any, in order for your website to comply with the necessary laws for websites. In extreme cases we will recommend your website be rebuilt if this is the most cost effective solution for you. We never oversell and as we're very honest, we will advise you the best way forward depending on how your website performs in the accessibility tests.

Complying with the law - Accessibility issues

Did you know the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) makes it illegal for a website provider/owner to discriminate against a disabled person by refusing to provide a service that is generally available, providing a service of a lower standard, or failing to comply with a duty to make reasonable adjustments? Don’t worry, we can assure you that we take these laws seriously on your behalf and that’s why our CMS and eCommerce website structures are developed to comply with current laws at the time of your order placement.

Accessibility guidance

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has produced a number of accepted guidelines, which are divided into three priorities:

w3c wai priority 1 Priority 1 or A - websites must comply otherwise some users will find it impossible to access the site
w3c wai priority 2 Priority 2 or AA - websites should comply, otherwise some users will find it difficult to access the site
w3c wai priority 3 Priority 3 or AAA - websites may comply, otherwise some users will find it somewhat difficult to access the site

W3C Code Validation and WAI Compliance

Unless otherwise specified, all A Prompt websites are developed to ensure that the structure of all front-end website pages comply with the current W3C Hypertext Markup Guidelines and that the structure of all front-end website pages pass the automatic validation checks for Priority 1 (Level A), Priority 2 (Level AA) and Priority 3 (Level AAA) WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative).
